2015 Essay Winner
The 2015 winner is Sarah Brabston, a senior at Blue Valley West High School. Sarah will be competing for a $2,500 scholarship at the Optimist District level.
Update: Sarah won the District level competition in Topeka on April 18! She was awarded a $2,500 scholarship that she will use this fall when beginning her path to a medical degree.

BV Essay Contest
The BV Optimist Club sponsors a local Optimist International Essay Contest for students under age 18 every year. The length of the essay is 700-800 words and is open to BV High, home, and church school students located in the BV district. The club winners receive small cash awards from the BV Optimist Club. The first place winner’s essay is submitted the Kansas Optimist District Essay Contest with the winner in 2015 receiving a $2500 college scholarship.
